Lilliput Railroad

In my May 5, 2023 blog, I spoke about how I had modified the HO-15 Minimum Twice-Around (officially named The Lilliput Railroad) track plan to be a two-level layout by removing the 30-degree crossing with a railroad bridge. I purchased this Bachmann Industries Over/Under Blinking Bridge off eBay on May 19, 2023. This is the original Standard-DC version, not the Bachmann Industries E-Z Track version of Today. Unfortunately, the blinking light feature didn't work as well as I had hoped since the copper plates found along the center post interiors and the blinking light connection were very loose. I wasn't upset with the seller as I knew that there were certain risks that I was taking when I purchased it. Thankfully, Woodland Scenics has a Just-Plug Lighting System that I can use as an alternative to possibly update the blinking light feature.

Original 4 x 7 HO-15 Minimum Twice Around Shown above is the original 4 x7 HO-15 Minimum Twice-Around track plan that was found in an old Atlas Model Railroad Company Catalog via HO Seeker Net, as the Atlas HO Layouts For Every Space 2021 edition isn't as detailed as it was back in 1996. I will admit that I wasn't thrilled with the offset measurements, as most beginner layouts are built as 4 x 6 and 4 x 8 layouts. I also wanted to modify the design as I wasn't pleased with the closeness of the tracks to each other as a single-level layout. I downloaded the Simple Computer-Aided Railway Modeller to modify the track plan to measure 4 x 8. I also changed the track plan by removing the 30-degree crossing and replacing it with a railroad bridge and omitted the far right-hand industrial spur before the bridge.

Atlas Model Railroad Company - Atlas HO Layouts For Every Space Atlas Model Railroad Company - HO-15 Minimum Twice-Around  DCC Setup I purchased an Atlas HO Layouts For Every Space copy through M.B. Klein on April 28, 2023. Although this edition still showed the Standard DC setup for the layouts published, nothing was shown about setting up a layout for DCC. I had to visit Atlas Model Railroad Company's website to download a .pdf file showing how to set up DDC for the layout of my choice - HO-15 Minimum Twice-Around. In the future, I shall refer to this layout plan as The Lilliput Railroad.
